I'm digging up old music. What are your favorite songs by those considered "outlaws" in country music? Examples of some of my favorites are: Willie Nelson, Gretchen Wilson, Kid Rock, Hank Williams JR, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash. (Don't know much about Waylon Jennings or David Allan Coe.)
Can you think of any others? I'd love to be introduced to some I don't know.

I'm looking for the best, sometimes forgotten, artists & very favorite songs. Along the line of Journey, Eagles, Skynryd, Cinderella, Metallica, etc. I'm actually pretty familiar with those I listed. You get the idea, though. I'm wondering if you can help with with those old goodies that I'm just stumped on. More than anything, do you know the names of the PARTICULAR songs that are your favorites and / or hits?

I remember riding in my mom's car singing the words to Filter's "Hey Man Nice Shot" with my sister at the top or our lungs. We had no idea we were talking about Bud Dwyer or suicide, we were just singing along and having a blast. I am pretty sure we thought it was about soccer..hahaha. Makes me feel kinda weird now when I hear it. Same scenario with "Plush" by STP. It's funny how innocent things were :)

Ministry – I found a tape cassette of With Sympathy in a desk during 4th period chemistry in high school. Never heard of them prior to that point. Since possession is 9/10 of the law, I took it home to listen to. Of course, it blew me away. This album was so ahead of its time, even though Al was trying to fake a British accent.

Genitorturers – This friend of mine in Tampa was raving about a local band during the early 90’s. They sounded interesting enough but I had trouble finding their music. So, I forgot about them for a while. A couple years later, I stumbled upon 120 Days of Genitorture at a used CD shop down in Key West, the least likely place to find much of anything other than Jimmy Buffet.

I'm a little confused. I want to know if the Goo Goo Dolls covered a song called I'll be. I have been researching and getting very mixed messages over the topic. I found enuf info to know that the song was originally written and performed by Edwin McCain, and I have found another version of the song that claims to be and sounds like the Goo Goo Dolls and I personally think is better, but alot of ppl seem to claim that they never covered the song. Please can someone sort out this dispute once and for all! And if they didn't cover it, who is the other version by? Cheers x

Keith Urban, Rascall Flatts, Taylor Swift, Big and Rich, Cowboy Troy, and many others like them like to call themselves country singers. Does anyone else but me think that is stupid? All good singers and song writers, but call a spade a spade,
Keith Urban - pretty boy pop singer
Rascall Flatts - middle aged boy band
Taylor Swift - rock and a little annoying
Big and Rich - horrible singers and rock/pop
Cowboy Troy - Rap, hick hop doesnt exists

Go to MTV where you belong and leave the country music to country singers
