I'm looking for the best, sometimes forgotten, artists & very favorite songs. Along the line of Journey, Eagles, Skynryd, Cinderella, Metallica, etc. I'm actually pretty familiar with those I listed. You get the idea, though. I'm wondering if you can help with with those old goodies that I'm just stumped on. More than anything, do you know the names of the PARTICULAR songs that are your favorites and / or hits?

i'm no longer a huge classic rock fan, yet I unquestionably know the musicians of the era and how lots they inspired later musicians. That being pronounced, i do no longer think of classic rock would be coming back any time quickly. purely look at what proportion sub-genres have popped into existance in the previous 40-50 years. Rock is continually evolving. i've got no longer fairly heard any contemporary bands that sound like the classics.

I would add to Fonzie T.'s great list:

Janis Joplin
Jefferson Airplane (White Rabbit and Somebody to Love)

However, I think you should try listening to classic rock radio. This is one genre that radio actually covers pretty well. You can find it in any city in America, and if you don't live near a city, then you can use internet radio. Google "classic rock station" and look for ones that have streaming.

The Allman Brothers would be a good addition.

Their classic album is "Live At The Fillmore East".
