What Missouri born country classic entertainer at one time played as the house band in a club in Las Vegas called "The Nashville Nevada Club"? He also wrote many country songs with some being recorded by Merle Haggard. He was part of the bakersfield sound of the 1950's and 1960's. This great entertainer passed away in 1985 at the age of 51.

All I remember is:

"Mama helps him put his clothes on
Daddy helps him brush his teeth"

Then it goes on to say:

"She's a hero, He's a hero
The world might not see it
But in someone's eyes
They're heroes just the same."

I think the song talks about parents and how they deal with having a child with special needs and how they still love them with all their hearts. It's a great song.
I always know it was song by a woman. I want to say it was a country song if that helps any.

Thank you.

Okay, so give a link to a song you think others may like. No MCR, FOB or anything that they play on mainstream radio. If it's gonna be a classic, let it be an obscure one (ie Pink Floyd's Cymbaline). Any genre of rock.

here's mine:
Porcupine Tree- The Start of Something Beautiful (it's a incomplete version, but none the less good)

What do you suggest?

I'm still finding my feet in this classical music world, but at the moment I'm looking into purchasing Karajan's 1-9 symphonies of Beethoven, performed by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Of course i have delved into different composers, and I do thoroughly enjoy Karajan's work (despite the critics who label him as without emotion), but I was just wondering when you have most enjoyed Beethoven, i.e. with which conductor? Why?

I heard a song a few months ago and i remember it from the 80's. It was an instrumental with violins (it was beening played at intermission for a high school orchestra performance - i asked but no one knew the title or artist). I can't for the life of me find this song, and not knowing the artist makes it even harder.

Anyone know the name of a band who had a top 40 hit with an instrumental (with violins).

TIA
