how does music travel?????

I don't know, but several of my outside events have been turned out by neighbors complaining several miles away.

The air that we breathe has enough density to carry sound waves at about 700 mph. If there were no air, no sound. Surprisingly, audible sound is at the very bottom of the electromagnetic spectrum which also includes light waves and radio waves, plus a host of other waves. The frequency of sound that most people hear is quite low--about 260 cycles per second, or middle C. The highest musical notes are below 5000 cps,or Hertz, The ear can detect frequencies up to about 18-20,000 Hz, but these are of no musical value.
