What Missouri born country classic entertainer at one time played as the house band in a club in Las Vegas called "The Nashville Nevada Club"? He also wrote many country songs with some being recorded by Merle Haggard. He was part of the bakersfield sound of the 1950's and 1960's. This great entertainer passed away in 1985 at the age of 51.

Bakersfield automatically brings Buck Owens to my mind but he was much older when he passed away and it was not long ago. Merle is still here so it isn't him...lol I''m not a classic country officianado so the next name that enters my mind is Dwight Yoakam and we know it isn't he either. I had to star it for my own curiosity sake.
