Well.. I've been listening to music from years, but i recently recognized that i am not aware of all these types : rock, rap, r&b, pop etc...... etc. !!
Can someone tell me what are the various types of music and do we call them 'TYPES' or is there any specific word for it? How many types r there in total? How do we recognize what is what?

What are some really good rockabilly or greaser bands? I absolutely love The Smiths, which is kinda (Keyword: KINDA) like rockabilly band. Please feel free to throw out any bands that are in that cool 50's (Or 60's or whenever this kinda music was around) theme!!!!

I remember it had the lyrics (roughly) of:

It got airplay on Radio1 and just about everywhere else, so someone is bound to have it.

Think it came out last summer or springtime.

Been buggin' me for months now and I'm hoping to nab it o itunes but I don't know the name!

The song has something about a guy out for his walk and he passes under a underpass and a guy comes out of a box.The guy follows him and he digs in his pocket for change and some how they start talking. The homeless guy says I was not always like this iv'e had my moments.
