Close to You was performed by The Carpenters and Burt Bacharach

So the male version is Burt.

Close To You, sung by The Carpenters, Karen Carpenter had a deep voice, but Burt Bacharach wrote it as well as What The World Needs Now, but that was made famous in the 60's by Jackie DeShannon. Hope it helps ya!
