You have 3 options for the songs:
1) Download from the iTunes store where a song is $0.99 and an album is $9.99.
2) Download illegally from Limewire and import the songs to iTunes.
3) Or transfer songs from a CD.

It does cost to download songs from itunes, but if you download limewire to your computer, you can download songs for free, transfer them to itunes and transfer them to your ipod costing you nothing. Every person i know does this. As far as finding one cheap, the best place i know is e-bay. You can get a 2nd generation shuffle for about $40 to $50 bucks.

Songs off itunes are 99 cents a song and 1.99 a video...but of course when you go on limewire it's all free...and an ipod shuffle costs $99

I illegally downloaded morpheus, and that i'm getting carry of the songs for unfastened, then I circulate them right into a folder I created called track, then from track I click on the music and opens up in iTunes. Then it is going onto my iPod shuffle from there.

There are online services you can subscribe to (for a fee) that will let you legally download songs. Or you can pirate them using things like BitLord or BitTorrent, which is ridiculously easy to do. Of course, you run the risk of a hefty fine if you take that route, so while I can't recommend or advocate piracy...pretty much everybody does it to some degree.

don't bother with a shuffle. why would you want an mp3 player without a screen?
