From my use of the word "album," you can see I'm not a young guy. I didn't listen to The Doors when they were making records (too young), but I got into them when interest renewed in the late 1970's (Apocalypse Now soundtrack, etc.).

I think this is my favorite by far. Very straightforward, and not so very dark like the others. Sounds good in the car. The first three, you have to be in the mood for - they may be better "art" but they can be disturbing! Not for the casual listen. Morrison Hotel is pretty good too, and Soft Parade has its moments.

Am I just getting old, and conventional? I'm not a "rebel" anymore. "Mother, I want to - - - YAAAAAH!" just doesn't fit so well into the afternoon commute.

Flame away, as I know many people consider L.A. Woman their worst. Or just reminisce about your favorite listening experiences! Maybe I can then listen anew, myself.

I'm just curious, and sitting here procrastinating at work. Just like YOU!

:)

I'm desperatly looking for a topic for my presentation in English (as a second language). I'd love to talk about something concerning music, but no band. Do you have any ideas?

It's an alternative band. Not too punk or emo. Not death metal either. Just alternative. Any ideas for a name?

At the moment I love My Chemical Romance, Lostprophets, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Muse, Pet Shop Boys...

Can you recommend anything similar?

Thanks a million, exactly the song, downloading now, been waiting a long time to hear it. But the version I heard must have been a cover as it definitely had a punkier twist. Pretty sure it wasn't SLF(cheers That Guy - my first point of call when trying to find it too) but......

I've been out of the music scene for awhile and I'm looking for any bands, I don't care if they're mainstream "sell-outs" on major record labels or if they're on a tiny shoe-string budget indie label in Buttmunch New Jersey, or even if they're unsigned. If you know any bands, preferably in the hardcore/metal genres, similar to the following bands, please let me know!

Snapcase, Underoath, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, Dillinger Escape Plan, The Tie That Binds, No Use for a Name, Caffiends, Refused, Poison the Well, Coalesce, Converge, Botch, Grade, From Autumn to Ashes, Sikth, Deftones, Relative Ash, 36 Crazy Fists, Tool, Boy Sets Fire, Avenged Sevenfold

Also, I'd really really appreciate anything with positive lyrics (Underoath, Killswitch Engage) and anything that incorporates melody (Boy Sets Fire, Underoath), but anything would be great. Thanks!

The title of the song is "Turn it up", and it not 'Turn it on' by Paris Hilton. Anyone know the artist of the song.

I am a Christian and I love metal, but Iask, is there room in metal for Christianity. There are alot of good Christian metal bands out there and we are shunned because of our beliefs. What are your thoughts on this?

First heard about 1983/4 bhut must be an earlier release. It has a punk(UK - real punk) heritage. A song about the troubles in Ireland.

In a station in the city, a British soldier stood
He was waiting for the people there, if the people would,
Some just stared in hatred, others turned in pain,
And the lonely British soldier wished he was back home again.

Come join the British Army said the posters in his town,
See the world and have your fun,
Come serve under the Crown,
Jobs were hard to come by,
And he could not face the dole,
So he took his countrys' Shilling,
And enlisted on the roll.

Any help much appreciated, I want to track it down, Cheers.
