Music - 11 January 2007

Despite trying on phone and the net I couldn't get any. I now look at E-bay and it's full of tickets for sale (not surprisingly). Did any true fans actually get to buy genuine tickets or is it all just ticket touts buying them to sell on.
If you are a genuine fan and did get tickets, best wishes to you - hope you enjoy it. If you didn't get tickets, sorry, hopefully you'll get to see them soon.
Consider the buzz about this group compared to the level of commercial success they actually get. I personally think their music is brilliant but am unwilling to put money into the hands of low life ticket touts

I have the feeling this question will sound awfully lame and obvious...

I starting playing on my dad's (giant large-necked classical) guitar when I was like 9 years old (I think thats accurate) . Only half-knowing I wanted to learn to play guitar. At the time I had been learning piano for a couple of years, though I hated it for some wierd reason - I just hated practicing, I don't know why, because I love practicing Guitar (Maybe because I was into rock music and the things I could play were nowhere close to what I liked). I quit piano and started playing guitar (A christmas gift) seriously sometime when I was 10 but quit all music for a little while. Now I'm turning 12 in February 2007 and I'm practicing everyday (I'm not taking lessons because I feel - like some unknown Yahoo Answers user said, "It turns something you want to do, into something you need to do)

Ive just reluctantly downloaded her album and its absolutely class, i say reluctantly as she is a rather unpleasant character by all accounts, thats why illegally downloaded it so that the stroppy mare doesnt get a penny of my dough, no no no

Any reccomendations? I'm fairly new to the genre, but I'd like to listen to something more unusual, and not over-used. Also, this is going a bit off subject, but in the soundtrack for the movie 'Spanglish' or perhaps if any of you have seen it, in the scene where he's cooking, they're playing a very beautiful piece. Lately I've been listening to country while driving and I'm impressed with the rhythm. The lyrics tell the most poignant stories. I also like the accent or twang, the more pronounced the better and the guitar.

BTW: I'm an anything black kinda girl - a huge fan of rhythm and blues, rap etc. What's happening here?

I play their songs ALL the time.LOVE them. It's a shame about Ruby Star, she was pretty awesome.
