i used to be a hiphop fan but it got boring same old scarface tony montana renactments, bimbos in sexy clothes,the whole crew throw shadow pupets, throwing money in the air in the videos it's all the same. it more comercial than ever..so what type of music will take out hip hop/rap like rock n roll took out disco????

I've seen lots of rockers both famous and not use SGs and Telecasters for gigs and everything especially when relating to distortion or overdrive. What are the pros and cons of these Guitars say compared to the Stratocaster and the Les Paul?

Because I'm 20-years-old and Black, people knock me because I like classic rock (The Beatles, Bob Dylan, etc.). I think that's so ridiculous. I love hip-hop, but heaven FORBID I like something else, right? I feel like whatever you like is what you like and it's no one's business.

I'm currently in my Church's praise team as the only Electric guitarist, using a Jumpstart Ibanez GAX Guitar which is pretty nice when I combined it witha Boss Distortion Pedal and some old Fender amp I cant seem to find on the internet(Has an Equalizer on it?), but I wanna explore more into more advanced guitars for a better sound. Seeing as how our main influence on music and mostly what we play comes from Hillsongs, I wanna know what a good guitar is that I can use for both Distortion playing and Normal setting..or whatever but within a good price range..nothing over 600 Im hoping. Something that'll last and especially keeps in tune very well cuz Im going to be playing it quite a bit~ Any string, pedal and amp use suggestions are much appreciatted as well.

These are the guys who're known for being good & capable players....but're seldom spoken of. Don't know why.

No, we're NOT talking about the big name like Jimmy Page, Gilmour, Slash, Hendrix, Clapton, etc. Those guys are mentioned All the time.



Rick Nielsen - I'd call him the prince of power pop hooks for sure.

Eliott Easton- Similar vein to Nielsen, but a much slicker player.

Mike Campbell- this guy can do anything.

Vernon Reid- The man can rock w/ the best of them.

Kim Thayil- He came up w/ his share of cool riffs.

Andy Summers- nuff said

Tom Morello- like his sound or not, y'gotta hand it to him for originality.

Nuno Bettencourt- He was praised all over ther place in the 90s.

Chuck Berry- His simple riffing changed the freakin world
