Because I'm 20-years-old and Black, people knock me because I like classic rock (The Beatles, Bob Dylan, etc.). I think that's so ridiculous. I love hip-hop, but heaven FORBID I like something else, right? I feel like whatever you like is what you like and it's no one's business.

I like everything, I think it's stupid for someone to criticize the type of music you like. I like everything except for opera. But there is so much out in the world to listen to with music. Don't let these people tell you otherwise. Keep on listening to that rock and roll. Its great stuff. I love R and B, Blues, and Rap and I am white. Go and listen to whatever you want to and don't let other people ever stop you. Music is such a great thing.

I like classic rock and heavy metal. I just hang around with people who don't make fun of me or have the same taste in music. Noone has ever made fun of me because they know that if they do, everyone who listens to that genre will kill them.

Yes, I am not a big music fan. It is hard for people to understand that I don't like listening to music. I do listen to music when I am cleaning the house. I listen to 70's country. People think I am crazy but truth is most music drives me crazy if I listen to it. I know where you are coming from

it doesnt matter. i get picked on because im in high school and i like classic rock. the whole school is rap and punk after 1990. i cant stand both of those genres but i dont bash anyone for listening to it. u can listen to mozart and i wouldnt give

As a single female on the dating market...I get all kinds of chit 'bout my music taste!!! The minute they see Rap on my profile...They will email me just to diss' me over that, verses a date!!!
I luv' rap, garage rock, indie, ole' blues, some country...Basically ALL types of music!!!
Due to my age...Men think I should ONLY like the ole' 70s classic rock etc....GAG!!!

people think if you dont like their type of music, ur a dum person. They think the music u listen 2 is how u r, and i wish ppl would just get over that caz u cant define a person by what they listen to

Been through the very same thing myself. I thought that ended w/ the 80s. Guess not....
Stupid, but at my age (37) you start to not give a rat's azz what other's say. At 20, you may be more sensitive to it....

I think that is pretty cool you like the Beatles, from age thirteen to about seventeen they were one of my favorite bands.
I am 34 now.
but yeah, who cares what others think.
Go on and get your groove on girl.
Don't worry about what your friends think.
Music is different for every individual.
It is sorta like your tastebuds, everyone is different, and they change with age.
