Personally I think it our rich cultural heritage.
The Celts, the Romans, the Saxons, the Vikings, the Normans, all the peoples of our former colonies and now European immigrant workers all mixed together to create a wondeful artistic nation!
"Britain, Britain, Britain. We've had running water for over ten years, we have a tunnel connecting us to Peru, and we invented the cat. " - Tom Baker
It is the people that make Britain what it is and allow us to have so many musical styles and great bands.

Somebody told me that the bad weather was important, they can not go out because of rain and cold so a lot of young people play music in the garage.
Probably the most important thing is a big record industry, possibilities to play in bars... so they are always looking for new bands.

Opinion my friend.
We may think they're great but others may think they're rubbish.
Of course since we live in Britain and are immersed in it's culture, British style music will appeal to us.
The whole America thing is just leadership influence, that one's international so you can't really argue with that...

It's cold and wet here, thus we spend more time indoors pondering on stuff. If this was a hot country we'd all be outside all the time and not bothering.
