Three men are to share a cab from the airport into town. When they arrive, the meter reads $25. Each man gives the driver a $10 bill. She hands them five $1 bills as change. Each man takes one of the $1 bills. They give the driver the remaining two $1 bills as a tip.

Each man has not spent nine dollars and the driver has two dollars for a total of $29. Where is the other dollar? Your challenge is to explain this paradox.

The traveller - funny or not?

A traveller pulls into a hotel around midnight and asks the clerk for a single room. As the clerk fills out the paperwork, the man looks around and sees a gorgeous blonde sitting in the lobby. He tells the clerk to wait while he disappears into the lobby. After a minute he comes back, with the girl on his arm.

"Fancy meeting my wife here," he says to the clerk. "Guess I'll need a double room for the night."

Next morning, he comes to settle his bill, and finds the amount to be over $3000. "What's the meaning of this?" he yells at the clerk. "I've only been here one night!"

"Yes," says the clerk, "but your wife has been here for three weeks."

What's up with Christmas starting earlier every year?

Okay - I heard on the news yesterday that starting November 1st, some radio stations will begin playing non-stop Christmas music & on Halloween, I saw 3 Christmas-based commercials. Is it just me? Who else thinks that retailers are advertising Christmas way too early?

GH B&W Ball?

I really like the Spinelli character and the actor who plays him. Wasn't the dance he had with Lulu the cutest thing. I wish they would connect him with someone but apparently that isn't going to happen for a while - or so I've heard. I feel sorry for the poor guy - he can't get a girl to save his life.

A farmer and the big city................?

A farmer, who went to a big city to see the sights, asked the hotel's clerk about the time of meals.

"Breakfast is served from 7 to 11, dinner from 12 to 3, and supper from 6 to 8," explained the clerk.

"Look here," inquired the farmer in surprise, "when am I going to get time to see the city?"

In the old "Little House on The Prarie" shows Laura married her sweetheart "manny" like in the show

BUT Mary Ingalls was never married or had children like she was shown in the series. Although she really was stricken blind. She never married her blind school instructor Adam. I guess he was made up for the show. Did the writers of the show just want Mary to have a happier story than being a spinster?

Your opinion on the dropping of the Atomic on Japan?

As horrible as it was, I support the decision. Believe me, I think of it as an absolute last resort. Having a History degree, it is quite clear to me that Atomic Bomb saved more lives than it ended. An invasion of the home islands would have costed millions of casualties on both sides (American and Japanese). Japan's entire population was prepared to defend itself from an invasion to the death. The battles of Okinawa, Iwo Jima, and Guadalcanal showed how fanatical the Japanese were. Surrender was not an option for them. I think that the Atomic Bomb was a necessary evil and I hope that it is never used again.
