Is he really this arrogant, is he just plain stupid, or did someone misquote him? Is he as relevant as he thinks he is?

I was sat at my pc at work......I recieved my daily stock market pre-opening report at 9:01am.....this is an excerpt:

"NEWS FLASH -- A PLANE APPARENTLY HAS HIT THE WORLD TRADE CENTER IN NEW YORK. TUNE INTO CNN FOR DETAILS -- Well, we've been getting some hate mail about the program schedule changes. For you long time CNNfn viewers in the 8-9:30 a.m. EDT period, please don't get too mad. David and I will try to give you the best we can. I know, we're not Jack, but Jack can't stay on set for three-and-a-half hours. Hot lights, ya know. He starts at 6 a.m. now on both CNN and CNNfn. Too early? Maybe a little VCR or Tivo action? We need all the viewers we can get ... even "

The denial and disbelief of what was unfolding was all too apparent. I have kept this email. It was a little piece of NYC reaching out to me.
