Punk....well that has to be Sex Pistols, Ramones, bands from that time period...there are some around that are good..but those first bands were true..punk bands.

Pistols , Dead Boys - pretty much covers it. Any new fad stuff doesn't really count cause it's not punk , just like new metal isn't really metal but more like "Gerber baby food fingerpaint by numbers" metal.
