I have a lack of not paying attention in class and its effecting my effort grade, what can I do about it?

An 18 year old French boy is coming to stay with a friend of mine. He will be studying English at a local college and will stay with my friend as a member of the family. She will do his washing and make his food and all that, just like as if he was a part of the family. The problem is, she doesn't know how much to ask him for, in terms of his board and keep, and being British, this is a very delicate area. This is in the Cardiff area. His parents are very well off. What sort of money per month should she ask for? He will be staying for a year with her.

Im talking about a language course.....Im learning Dutch, and would appreciate some suggestions....the course Im taking is only a month long...but the imput is quite high....so, I feel Im learning, but find it a little overwhelming at times.....I do try to speak, but.....get stuck too many times. By the way, I started 2 weeks ago.....from scratch. Also this is the third language Im learning....but the one Im finding the most confusing. Mother tongue is Spanish, languages I learnt, obviously English and also French.....which completely mix in my head at this point....HELP!
