Don't listen to the guy above here. You have many options with a graduate degree in chemistry.

You can teach at the community college level (masters) or university level (Ph.D.)

You can work in industry, depending on your field. There is always a need for techniques to answer the question: "how much is there" of a given analyte.

Finally, you can always go for a post-doc.
