the scores are placed on the school bulletin but they refuse to let us see the actual tests. We are worried because the person administering the test and grading them does not have a teacher's license. Is a teacher's license required to grade test?

okay i'm in grade 9 and i recently got very bad on my math eqao exam. I was at a 68% in the term and this final exam was worth 15%. If i get a 30% or a 40% on the exam how low would my mark go. I also have another 15% summatvie and if i get 8% on that what would my total mark be.

70% for term
30% for exam and summative.

My son is in GT in 4th grade. They received a school report card that gives percentages. It has TAKS test percentages among different races. It also has TAKS failers promoted by grade placement committee. It goes on to list the different races and percentages of those students that failed the test that were promoted The percentages were for reading White 86.8%, hispanic 92.9%, and 100% african american. That was reading TAKS test. And math isn't much different either. The african american was the same. These results were for 2005. My feelings are anger. Even though the white students scored higher than all other races by the percentages. This means that it didn't matter if an african american passed or failed the test they were going to be promoted. I am white by the way. But this is discrimination against whites if I have ever seen it!

I'm going over my requirements for the SATS, however I find one troubling.

Where on earth am I going to get a #2 pencil. I know in this day and age we are into recycling and everyday products come from the remains of other resources, but why would I need to use a pencil made of poo for a test which is supposed to direct my college future?

...where on earth do I get a pencil like this? Can't I just use a pen???

Okay so everyone says never leave an answer blank....and one of my friends said that if i were to put any one letter choice concistantly for the whole test i could get an 18 on that section because each letter they use 25% of or somthing like that.

So if i was guessing a question or I just ran out of time and had to fill in bubbles...would it be the right thing to do to fill in one consistant choice of a letter? Should it be C????

I've never done great in writing, especially when given a prompt about writing your opinion. I'm not good at organizing my thoughts in such short time and those prompts are so confusing. But I don't think I'm stupid because I'm pretty good at math. Any helpful tips?

I was just wondering... i did really bad on my math exam and i think i got less than 50% on it. i'm at a 68% average right now. So if i get about 40% on the exam or 30% what will my average be.

also i have a summative worth 15%, so if i get say 8% on that

what would my total average be?

Do they keep a record of scores?
What if you do badly on the exam, does it count against you when you use the score to apply for college? Thanks~

I'm trying not to get myself too worked up but I'm stressed beyond belief! I'm starting to get this attitude like, "I can't do this, I CAN'T DO THIS." and it's bugging me because I know I can and have to anyways. Plus I tend to eat A LOT when I get stressed & I really really really need to stay away from the kitchen. I have two exams in two different classes every day for the remainder of the week. Anybody have any tips on how to deal with what I need to do?
