I'm going over my requirements for the SATS, however I find one troubling.

Where on earth am I going to get a #2 pencil. I know in this day and age we are into recycling and everyday products come from the remains of other resources, but why would I need to use a pencil made of poo for a test which is supposed to direct my college future?

...where on earth do I get a pencil like this? Can't I just use a pen???

Getting a #2 pencil is not that diffcult. In india there is no problem in finding supermarkets that sell u almost anything 4 money

You have to use pencil so that the test can be graded by machine, and it should be #2 so that it is a small point that won't over-fill the bubbles. Go to a drug store like CVS, and there should be a package of 10 in there somewhere

Almost every single classroom pencil is a #2 these days. The other numbers usually refer more towards artsy things. About $2 and Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Target or a few others should do ya fine.

One thing about pencils is that they sure don’t make ‘em like they used to. Oh, there are still excellent #2 pencils to be had. But you can’t get them at a regular office supply store, or a department store. You can track down obscure Japanese stationers, or specialty online retailers, but even they often have limited selections.

But one other way to get some great #2pencils is to buy old pencils. Not used pencils, but pencils that have just been hanging around, maybe at a garage sale. Many of these pencils from years ago are of excellent quality, and some are outstanding. They’re not like today’s office supply store cheapos.

Are you sure you are ready and mature enough to take the test. Most pencils you buy at the regular old store are # 2 pencils.
Good luck on your test and if you did use a pen you would not be able to erase mistakes.

With that attitude you won't pass.

the #2 indicates the type of graphite lead in the pencil. You can't use a pen becase the computer scanner used to grade the test can't detect ink.

Forget about it. Don't take the test. Just go to community college. For that matter, don't go to college at all. The public library and book stores are available if you someday decide there is something you need to learn. I'm serious. Only go to college if someone else is paying for it. Don't go to a college that is too difficult. You want time for partying and chasing tail.

you could probably look for an HB pencil that might be easier for you to find. I believe that a #2 pencil is also referred to as an HB pencil
