ok here's the deal. I'm only 12 but i'm taking the SAT's this year. I guess i'm smart but whatever because i dont think it will help much.... i am soo stressed out because of all the studying. The whole test is full of stuff that i have never covered before so i am asking anyone who has taken it what to expect and if they have any suggestions on what to really spend study time on. Also does anyone have any good SAT work books??

It's not bad for a sophmore, but you need to increase your score to get into a good college. I got 2 perfect scores in math and reading, but my writing score was only 720, for a total of 2320. I only read this SAT guide, and that is how I got such high scores:

I recommend this guide to anyone seeking to get a higher score to get into a first choice college.

I took the SATs in 8th grade, because my parents wanted me to. Really, don't get so stressed out about it. One, because you're only 12 and thats honestly somewhat ridiculous. And two, you have plenty of chances to take them later in high school, and most colleges take your best combined score anyway.
I never studied for the SAT any of the times I took it (3 total...once in 8th grade as I said and twice in high school). Granted, you sound like you're freaking out, so maybe just to calm yourself down you should look over some books, but my suggestion would be to go in it without studying just to get an idea of how you would do, so you can better prepare for it later. If you're taking it this early, then you have ample opportunities for retaking it. I did really well on the math section, but I didn't know a lot of the words on the verbal section. When I took it later in high school, I did significantly better on the verbal part.
So, I say take a deep breath (or ten) and just try it out. Even if you don't do as well as you would have liked, remember that you're only 12. I sure don't know any other kids who took it when they were 12.

Well, your age doesn't matter your grade does if you are in 7th grade then you definately have not covered enough vocabulary, math, or grammar to get a decent grade on this test. But, if you are being required to take it I would find a site that has SAT vocabulary words and study them. I would also get a generic workbook to look at for basic studying and try to cram as much into your 12yr old brain as is physically possible.
I don't want to sound like I am putting you down or that this is impossible, but it is just not something that I would suggest for someone of your age.

have you taken the PSAT? If so, the SAT is in basically the same format.

I haven't taken the actual SAT, but this is mainly what it has: Algebra 1, Geometry, and English.

This is the scoring system: you get 1 right, you get 1 point; you get 1 wrong, you lose 1/4 point' if you leave it blank, it doesn't affect your score.

There's also a podcast (for your iPod/iTunes) that can help you with the vocabulary.

Buy the SAT practice books. (The ones with real SATs in it). This helps you practice. Since ur obviously not taking SAT for college (i hope not) lol.... its ok if u dont do well. Since u r taking it, u are obviously smart. I no i'm kinda confusing. srry!
I took the SAT last spring 2 get in2 john hopkins and my math score ws good enough for them. Also, guessing really helps.
Good luck!

Your 12!?!?!?!?!?!
You have no reason to worry how well you do on this one.
In 4/5 years you'll have to worry. (like me)
But do not worry about this one. Heck, you shouldn't get more than 20% at 12........
