i mean like having high IQ only makes you feel superior or having better mind quality; learning much faster or sth like that, but that does'nt make any much difference. as you know pple who tends to have average IQ are in junior high college or universities...
is having high IQ important to you?
well, my iq was >130 when i was young, my iq now was ard 120-135, but that doesn't makes me very smart. is there any advantage?

My kid won a city level prize for an essay competition. Now the same essay is going for the National level. There are only six competitors for the national title. The organizers have asked for the child's bio data, I'd like to know whether the kids achievements, aspirations, ambition can be a part of the information.

It seems the younger generation either is no longer receiving an education in the schools, or is otherwise indifferent about how their written words are viewed. One need only look to these questions. There are entire paragraphs with no punctuation, no capitalization, and egregious spelling errors. And forget grammar--it appears there is no effort made in that area at all. Is it just me? Am I, at 41 years old, an antique? Does communication mean anything anymore?

I've taken an AP English language and composition course and so far the course looks interesting and eye-opening...which means I hope to stay. However, my teacher really emphasizes how the class is difficult and points out that it is "extremely brutal" every now and then. Although I did speak to her, she told me most kids wrote very simple essays before entering her class, and therefore saying the class is brutal every now and then was to mock their laziness. However, she gave me a diagnostic test and I didn't answer the questions in an efficient or timely matter and I know I didn't do well on it. Her expression while handing in the diagnostic was not a very positive one either. Most people who've taken AP classes tell me that using a book as a second course is very helpful. I've been on amazon and tried searching for other sources and the best hat I got out of the search was the cliffs book.
Also, is the AP Language and Composition class REALLY that hard?
