It's not my fault, my teacher just taught us how to pass the exam, do you think my rights to learn have been violated as you would expect to speak French fluently after doing 2 years of a GCSE!

My son was tested at school for the gifted program(at his teachers request) he tested at 118, they told me that was above average for a 10 y/o, but that the cut off is 126. My question is what is average, above average. etc. and what is considered normal. My son of course thinks he flunked..and I am trying to explain to him that this isn't a pass/fail kinda thing , and that he is still very smart and well loved by me! Any insite would be great (for me and him) thanks!

I don't think it is. Mostly because it's teaching you how to answer tests the "right" way without allowing for the person taking the testing to actually think out an answer of their own. It should be more important that a student is getting the education that he or she needs, rather than test scores they recieve.

The holidays are over and there are quite a few kids on my street today playing with remote controlled cars with their parents. This happened a lot before the holidays as well. They seem to send their kids to school when they feel like it.
