I had the following deleted with a violation notice snottogram:

Question: do you think the x factor is rigged?

Deleted Answer: what's the x-factor? is this something to do with genetics gone wrong?

Reason of Violation:Not a Question or Answer

Would it have passed the idiot test if I'd said "Y is there an X factor?".

Whenever I take a test/quiz in math, I always end up getting a B because of stupid mistakes, like multiplying instead of dividing, move a decimal over one too many times, etc.

My teacher gives us until the end of the period to finish the test, and then whatever we don't finish is just marked wrong. If I check my problems as I'm doing them, I don't have enough time to finish, but if I rush through it and try to get it done, I don't have time to check and I end up making stupid mistakes that I would've caught if I had checked.

Can anyone give me advice on how to do better on my math tests? [BTW I don't have any trouble with the concepts, it's just the little stuff I mess up on.]

I took the test many, many years ago. I scored a 1430: 740M,690V.
I am not rich and couldnt afford the prep course but I did buy the Real SATs and practiced for over 3 months.

I am organizing a committee at school to increase Hispanic admit rates, and SAT scores are very important and can be improved with studying.

Sometimes I don't feel really confident. At times, I feel like I'm prepared, but when it actually comes to the test all the stuff that's in my head goes poof. Please give some suggestion.

I've been in a junior college. I switched majors and have been there longer than intended. I ever took my SAT's in high school. I think that maybe I was intimidated, i'm not sure. I grew up assuming i wasn't really good enough for college, or that i didn't have the grades. On the other hand, I've always been much brighter than most of my peers. I'm just about to transfer to a Cal State.

So should I take the SAT's? How much does it cost? Will it help financially? Any knowledge that you can offer me would be cool.

Thanks, in advance.

Is leaving an answer blank better than guessing the wrong answer?

If a question was 3 to the power of 2, and the options were 5, 6, 9, and 32, would you get more points for guessing, for instance, 5 or 6 (3+2, 3*2) because they make more sense than the answer 32?

And lastly, are the points for each question just totaled and divided by a total possible score, or is there some fancy curve average mumbo-jumbo that goes on.

Oh wait.. no... one more question. Do all questions count for the same amount, or do more difficult questions count for more?

Thanks!

Okay, for as long as I can remember, I have wanted to go to Harvard to get my Law Degree. Now that I'm actually able to take my SAT and ACT, what scores should I shoot for?

P.S. I took my ACT two years ago in the 7th grade and made a 21. I know I need to get it up much higher.
