Whenever I take a test/quiz in math, I always end up getting a B because of stupid mistakes, like multiplying instead of dividing, move a decimal over one too many times, etc.

My teacher gives us until the end of the period to finish the test, and then whatever we don't finish is just marked wrong. If I check my problems as I'm doing them, I don't have enough time to finish, but if I rush through it and try to get it done, I don't have time to check and I end up making stupid mistakes that I would've caught if I had checked.

Can anyone give me advice on how to do better on my math tests? [BTW I don't have any trouble with the concepts, it's just the little stuff I mess up on.]

My grandfather always says that you have to "rush slowly". Make sure that you write out all the little steps, so you can check your work later. And, of course, remember that it's better to skip one question, and check the answers on 10, than to answer all questions, but miss 5 of them because of accuracy issues! Check out 'Studying For Exams Made Simple' written by an 'A' student. I think you can still get it at www.college-study-skills.com Just click the 'how to study' link. It sure helped me.

proteins. studies show people who eat alot of sugary caffeinated drinks do less then people who eat a well protein diet before taking tests. protein stimulates the brain naturally while caffeine doesn't leaving you with anxiety and overactiveness. also rest...yes yes corny but it is true. other than that review a day or two before the test.

instead of checking your problems you should probably just show all your work. I think that way you will have less a chance to have errors.
