I had the following deleted with a violation notice snottogram:

Question: do you think the x factor is rigged?

Deleted Answer: what's the x-factor? is this something to do with genetics gone wrong?

Reason of Violation:Not a Question or Answer

Would it have passed the idiot test if I'd said "Y is there an X factor?".

I wonder whether there are actually any moderators, or whether they just have an automated system which automatically removes questions and answers as soon as they're reported. If removal of answers is done by moderators, they must all be brain-dead knee-jerkey w*nkers. So either theory could be true!

If Yahoo Answers vetted all questions and answers though, they'd probably have to remove every last one of them, as basically any opinion or content of any kind is against their regulations. So why do they bother to have a Q&A section at all?!!!

oh ,may i rant a while to you first

I wrote a reply out to your question, just now, spell checked it and tucked in the edges neatly ~~~~~~~~
Then what happens !!!!
Yahoo (in their wisdom )asked me to log in again!
Not a big deal, we say ~~~~

but it then, swallowed up all my answer ;
and here i am having to start all over again !!!
has this happened to you as well , ??
it is bad for my blood pressure and plays hell with my patience ..

Now to address your question --
- yes I agree , it is vexatious, to get a violation , when no offence was intended .
Maybe if you had, put in a word or two extra ,your meaning,
your answer ,would have not been so easy to misinterpret.

Still rise above it and plod on ~~~~~~~

I do not know what training Yahoo moderators get ,
but
I do not envy them their job either

Best of luck

This is great as I am a Genetic Scientist and I had to ask around to find out that the x-factor was some cheap television programme that I have never seen and know nothing about.

These children who run this site must think that their limited knowledge in the world applies to everyone else.

I must admit that I have limited knowledge of cheap television programmes though.

I don't think they even bother moderating. If someone reports you I think it is just an automated reply sent out! Either that or they are complete morons!

I had a violation last week saying not a question and even used the squigly thing with the dot under it and everything.
