A retorical question, yes. I just don't get how someone (or some people to be more precise) could have made this up, and put it in as a school subject in schools for students to fail at. Why? Why the torture?

P.S. My Math grade is a 52.0 (yes, I'm failing...)

As you speak to a group of people whether young children or teenagers what are some OTHER ways to grab their attention or start speaking to them other than just saying "you guys this or you guys that"? I know it is a wierd question but the English slang of "you guys" is often over-used. From a possible future elementary school teacher I find myself sayin you guys need to do this or you guys are doing great at that during summer camp job....what are other formal ways to address groups of people? Or maybe I have a bad habit and need to just get rid of it...

To teach Spanish, which is more marketable, A Master's in Ed with certification in Spanish, or a Master's in Spanish?
I also have a Master's in Social Work and am trying to put all of my talents and interests together.

I know I need the M.Ed to teach in a middle/high school, but the Master's in Spanish appeals to me more. Will a middle/hs hire someone with just a Master's in Spanish if they go back and get certified later?

Also, which job is more in demand, middle/secondary Spanish teachers or Spanish professors/instructors?

i love reading and I go through books really, really quick. A trimester at my school is about three months, so I read approximately 6500 pages. I wrote that on my reading log and handed it in to my english teacher (i'm in eighth grade) and she didn't believe me, so she is going to call my parents?

is that fair? i really DID read 6500 pages. i counted them all up.

Last week my ten-years-younger brother (he's 10, I'm 20) who is in the fifth grade was put in time out for an hour because some kid chased him with a freshly sharpened pencil threatening to stab him with it. When the kid caught my brother, he really did try to stab at him but, thankfully, my brother had on a very thick jacket so the pencil never pentrated. My brother retaliated and when the teachers saw this, they put both boys in time out for an hour. My parents and I congratulated my brother for standing up for himself and me and my mother will be having a very strongly worded talk with the teachers (and possibly the principal) about this event.
When asked why my brother was put in time out, the teacher said "he should have come to us instead of reatiliating. We had to punish him too". Do you agree with this? What are some things you would tell the teachers/principal? Do you agree with punishing both parties of a "fight" even though one started it because no one told the teacher?

I'm co heading my school's library event which is a photography competition.

The problem is that response for entry submission is weak. We've done tons of announcements. Are there any other promotion ideas to spread across the message of this event?

The students in my school are between 13 - 16 years old.

To all the people who answered my previous questions...

I come from an age not long ago in the 70's and 80's when, if i was absent from school a teacher would ring home to see why on the day. When parents evening was just that, not a day off for pupils and parents alike. When teacher training was performed in a live classroom, not an empty school. When i forgot my PE kit i was given anything out of the lost bin to wear. When i was cheeky i got such a roasting i wasnt cheeky again. When teachers marked home work in there own time. When the summer holidays were the only holiday worth a mention.
But most importantly I believe when in 4 years (in the big school) i only ever saw 1 person get expelled..? It was a time when teachers got repect.
To all the people who blame parenting, do you honestly believe that parenting skills have declined so much in 20 years?. (by the way i have 4 other boys in FE never been in trouble).

So should a 14 year old be excluded for back chat?.

Sorry but NO!
