You probably won't be held back if your grades are good enough, though the absences might make it harder for you to retain the info you need to progress to the next level. It will be your grades that keep you back, not the absences themselves. Hope the absences aren't for a serious illness or death in the family. If so, hope you are getting help. If not, hope you can make it to school more often. It's hard for teachers to identify your needs if they don't get much face time.

Your excused "absents" are already holding you back. It'll be tough to get a job with spelling and grammar like this on your resume.

But no, a few excused absences will not hold you back from moving to the next grade.

The key is where you said most absences were excused. Exactly why have you racked up so many missed days and why are only some of them excused? I'm not sure how they do thing in CT, but when I was your age the rules allowed for almost NO leeway in missed days. If you went over the limit for unexcused abesences you failed, no if's, and's or but's about it.

I'm a teacher in Connecticut. You cannot be held back for your absences if they are excused, but I'm sure your absences are affecting your grades, which can be used to hold you back.
