She hasn't said anything to me and I have ask her to talk to me on a number of occassion. She is bad mouthing me behind my back which is upsetting other parents. She say her son isn't happy...though he always arrives in school with a big smile.
I am really lucky in all my years of teaching never to be faced with this problem..nothing I do pleases her. She wants her kid to play all the time with no working..i.e. no number work, nothing..just play. I can't do that I am a teacher not a babysitter.

What can I do to make things better without bowing down to her every wish?

My 4 year old came home telling me that while his class (21 kids)was in the library watching a movie, the librarian left the class unattended for an unknown period of time (he says it was a long time) to go have a talk with a parent in the office.

An incident occurred while they were unattended and the teacher disciplined my son for it and later had a conference with myself and my husband. Although she was quick to place blame on my son, she did not tell us that they were unattended. We learned that from our son later when we asked him to tell us what happened step by step.

Is this legal?

I have been trying to look up specific Texas regulations about this, but I am having no luck.

My friends daughter is going to be on her gradeschool years... but... my friend is worry cuz her daughter cant read the time/clock... she tried everythin but none of it works,,,, shes worried on her daughters future on math stuffs... cuz she is also not good in math how do i help her? w/ her problem???? are there any websites that can help children read time and other math stuffs???

hi my 3 yr old nephew in chicago is native of india.but he is doing his kindergarden there.his mother tongue is different so he is feeling bit odd at his school.so please suggest me some websites to help the kid.or jus give some useful sentences and phrases to help him.further his parents were speaking in english but mostly they use their native language.thanks in advance.

it spelled out red r-e-d- (2) I spelled red, (repeat) fire trucks are red stop signs are red too, r-e-d r-e-d.. and there is also Yel-low spells yellow (yellow), like the sun up above, when the day has just begun yel-low spells yellow... daffodils adn baby duck are yellow, lemonaide and scrabbled eggs are yellow, the smiley face is yellow he is such a happy fellow yel-low spells yellow... and there are more colors but those are all i know.. if anyone can help me find a cd with this on it i would appreciate it... I had a workshop years ago that stated kids learn colors (shapes, numbers, letters, etc) in a specific order. The speaker emphasized that certain skills or "steps" just aren't learned before the first ones are in place. By steps, I mean the ability to tell the difference between two colors held side by side, ability to name a color when asked, the ability to point to the color being named, etc. Can anyone help?

We are trying to put together our school auction. This school is from preschool to kindergarten. Do you have any ideas about the team for the auction? Last year it was about a circus, every single item was grouped depending on the value and they called it like clowns, etc.

I know when kids start taking individual classes they have the ability to take "advanced" classes, but that is usually in middle school. Should we move it up sooner, maybe all the way to kindergarten? I was helping in a kindergarten class and noticed that the teacher spent most of the time with kids who didn't know their letters (or how to spell their names) and the kids who could be self sufficent were hardly talked to. Are these kids going to get stagnant if they have to wait for the other kids to catch up?
