I haven't heard of the r-e-d song but I do know the Herman the Worm song. A boy I babysat over the summer taught it to me. It is very cute. Here are the words.

Sittin' on my fencepost, chewing my bubblegum
(chew, chew, chew, chew)
Playin' with my yo-yo, wee-oo! wee-oo!
When along came Herman the worm
And he was this big (make a motion as if measuring a tiny worm)
And I said: "Herman? Whats happening?"
"I ate (fill in the blank. we used animals/insects)."

(repeat verse, with worm action getting larger and larger for each of the following lines:)

repeat the song a few times

(repeat verse one last time, with a tiny worm action for:)
"I burped."

HOpe this helps
