There are special courses for becoming a teacher.Opt one of them. But mind that a teacher will be successful if he continues to learn from others, from the environment and the students too. You should always prepare for your class even if you have been teaching the same course for years.

I work for a Head Start Program and as far as I know, an Early Childhood Education Certificate is sufficient. In some cases, an Orientation to Early Childhood Education Certificate works as well.

Head Start teachers have to have bachelors degrees. It should be in pre-k education or child development. It could be a related degree (one that has some similar coursework) like psychology or family studies if you have some related experience (working with children).

Had you mentioned your qualification that would have helped.The qualification that is usually expected is any graduate with extra qualification of bachelor of education well if you are post graduate am hold masters in education degree then your chances of getting good job increases.

I work at a head start in jersey, i was offered a temp teaching position during the summer. i could have been the teacher but i didn't have enough credits in certain area's. if i were you, i would go to the center you trying to work at with your transcripts if you have them, and speak to the center coordinator.
