Preschool

this is my first year w my own room and set of kids.they will be 3 going on 4.....also where to get CHEAP supplies?thanks for any help!

I am looking for any parents and/or teachers out there at can help me broaden my four year old son's vocab. He will be starting Pre-K this fall and I want him to as prepared as possible. I try to think of simple words to teach him only I am afraid I am pushing a little too hard. Please if some one can reference me to any websites or even supply me with a list of good vocab. words it would be great.

Hi everyone,

My 3 year old is going to start preschool next month. It's going to be his first time being away from us. The only people who have ever even babysat for him have been family members.

He's been potty trained (few accidents here and there) for about 1 month now because the school requires that all children be potty trained.

He's excited about the thought of going to school but I don't know if he really understands what it is. He knows that Caillou (pbs show) goes to preschool and says he wants to go to school like Caillou.

So...any advice on what I can do to make it easier for him? Any tips on how to prepare a 3 year old for preschool? What kind of school supplies, if any, will he need?

I am a single mother and I do not qualify to send my son to pre-k in the state of Texas, however I cannot afford to send him to a preschool...Most preschools are $150.00 per week. What can I do? Are there programs out there for my son? Besides at home I want him to start some kind of academic curriculum.

A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment.

Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:0 0 AM for an early morning business flight.

Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper,
"Please wake me at 5:00 AM ." He left it where he knew she would find it.

The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed.

The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM . Wake up."

I am a preschool teacher, there is this one child who, when my boss comes in and asks him questions, he goes totally dumb. for instance, the other day she came in and asked him to write the number 6, he froze and couldn't do it. 2 seconds after she left, I asked him to write the number 6 and guess what...??? he did. with no hitches. this problem is affecting the way my boss thinks of me and there is a small chance I could get fired over it. I need some help!! :-(

My son is 4 years old and currently in a pre-K program in Arapahoe County, Colorado. The cost is getting to be to much but it is important for him to continue this for social skills as well as for education. I am not considered low income but I cannot afford this much longer. Does anyone know if there is assistance for this and how do I go about getting it? If anyone has been through this, I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

i tried to enroll my 4 yr old daughter in pre k today but she was denied because i dont fall in the "low income" class. now while i am not poor i certainly do not have the funds to pay for montessori thats like 700 a month. why do they think that "poor" children have more right to an education?

I have a tutorial center where in we offer educational assistance to students who are enrolled from kinder to College. The Name of the service is "Regular Assistance Program". In this program we help the students with their homeworks and do advance lessons using their school materials. The response of clients is good but clients often opt for the after school schedule like late in the afternoon. The center is vacant from 8am to 4 i n the afternoon. I was thinking of offering Day care service where we would cater to children ages 3 and 4, those who are not yet ready to enroll in a formal school but parents are excited about having their children get their first lessons in alphabet, numbers.. etc. My problem is I dont want to name it "DAy Care Program" I was thinking of things like "BEginners Lessons".. Can you think of any other Way to call it?
