I am interested in becoming a NICU nurse and or a midwife. Does anyone know what type of schooling requirements I need for the two and how long it would take? If there is anyone out there that is a midwife or NICU nurse, how do you like the job, hours, and is it stressful? Thank you!

Although, I'm not English; my love of correct grammar and punctuation is worrying for some. I try to learn the proper way and often been told I'm old fashioned in some ways. I try to stick to rules but some people say language is evolving at a rapid speed and I need to relax a bit by not sticking to old ways.

when I'm writing, I tend to forget to put certain words; however, during proof reading I can pick some of my mistakes and correct them. I some time feel the signal is lost from the brain to fingers. Any tips, advice or technic would be grately appreciated. Many thanks.

Okay, it's my freshman year in highschool. My first semester I was great until the very end [my grades started plumeting a bit]. My second semester [now], everytime one grade goes up, another goes down. And when they are even I slack off a bit. It's bothering me but I just don't feel motivated anymore, but I'm still worried about failing like some other kids I know might. Is it normal to feel this way my freshman year?

Hello there. Does anyone have any tips to wake up early besides getting an alarm/sleeping early/etc? I'm studying for a test right now, and I mostly stay up late to study (I sleep around 1-2 am in the morning). I need to wake up early in order to have enough time to study again. I've tried everything from alarm clocks to telling my grandfather to wake me up. Nothing works - I just go back to sleep!! I end up waking late and studying less than I hoped I would!

Please help; I'd really appreciate it! Tips or suggestions are more than welcome.

I just read an article saying nearly 40% of adults in D.C. are functionally illiterate. It went on to say that, nationally, 21% of adults are functionally illiterate.

Yet, when I say education should be the nation's number one priority I am dissed. Doesn't anybody agree with me that this is unacceptable? How on earth will the U.S. compete when a fifth of its adult population can't read or write to 2nd grade level?
