How can I write better? I am beginning high school (freshman). I live in Puerto Rico, I attend a bilingual school. Since in Puerto Rico people speak much of the time in Spanish, I would like to write well like a native English language speaker. How can I? I know it's practice, practice, and practice. I think I am lacking behind in writing, especially when it comes to analyzing. When I read good articles or analysis of others, I wish to write like them.

I had my two nextel phone stollen out of my car and in order for me to be able to report them stollen I need the account numbers and the telephone numbers but on the invoice that came with the phone none of that information was given to me. so what do I do?

I am a senior in high school who just got into Cornell University early decision. Once, in my sophomore year, I was caught cheating on a chemistry quiz. I received a conduct report and detention for this, and then vowed never to do it again. However, against my better judgment, I recently got caught again cheating on a French test. My teacher was very kind about it (and I'm etermally grateful to her about that), but told me that unfortunately she had to turn my name in because it was school policy. This time, it will be my 2nd conduct report, and I will probably have to serve detention again. I am not worried about my grade because I'm pretty confident that I'll still end up with a B, and I know that I've made an extremely poor decision TWICE in my high school career. This time however, I am afraid that my punishment will be more severe and my actions may make Cornell second-guess their decision. Please tell me if my chances at college are in jeopardy and give me advice on what to do!

Very long story but I have an english tutor who charges 50 dollars for each lesson (doesn't matter if its 1 hour or 1 and 1/2 hour or 2 hrs or whether you're in a group of 2 or 3 people or more) and every time i go to her place I feel like all we're doing is trying to burn time. Most of the lesson time she spends stressing over her life issues such as her house or she is text messaging/calling friends. Should i continue with her? She has very enticing resources written by her past students probably from when she could teach properly though.

I am looking for about 10 short FREE articles on research examining the effectives or otherwise of using L1 in the ESL classroom. I have to write synopses for a project, and am interested in this area. Unfortunately my internet searches to date haven't come up with the goods.
Ideally, I'd like to find articles with research that supports a monolingual, English-only, total immersion approach to ESL.

I have searched and can't find anything. I thought there would be a site that you coud enter your zip-code and get approximately what the average elevation is there, of course it would not be exact. Or maybe enter an address and get an exact elevation for that address. Thanx I appreciate any help I can get.
