Thanks a lot!

Is there a way I can respond to the answers to ask further questions?

I don't know how to do that...

Thanks for your answer!
I want to ask if EyeQ really works?
I've seen a lot of their ads from Internet... and also saw many other programs. I need more informations about how do they work and are these programs the same thing or are they similar things?
How do I choose the best program?

Buy a 7 dollar book on the subject, it won't be any different than taking an expensive course or buying a computer program.

Mostly all the books will tell you the same things, and these are mostly based off of Evelyn Wood's reading course.

This is basically what they will tell you:;

One major thing that slows you down in reading is reading the words in your head, or as they call it "subvocalization".

What they tell you to do is read with your finger underlining the text, and push yourself to read about one sentence per second by looking at the words (and try not to pronounce them in your head) And do not go over and re-read what you just read. Just force yourself to go faster.

To some extent this works, in effect your really skimming the text, but you can slow it down a little so you can comprehend the words.

Some people just naturally are better readers and we can all read faster with some practice.

You should be skeptical of any program that claims that you can read 1000 words a minute with high comprehension, I have found no studies to prove this is true.

Years ago, I took the Evelyn Wood speed reading course and while I found that I was able to read a bit faster, it required work to get to that level and I don't beleive that improved my comprehension at all.

I generally don't like to speed read, because you constantly have to force yourself to read faster, and it works very well if you just want to get the gist of the subject, but if you are reading a novel you really want to savor and picture the words in your head.

There is no miracle course out there to increase ones reading speed and or comprehension, if it really worked that well don't you think they would teach it in school?

You can even save yourself 7 bucks on buying a book and just do a google search on speed reading techniques and you'll find a free tutorial somewhere.

Good Luck!

There is a software program out there called eyeQ it helps you to speed reading by doing these pretty cool eye exercises. It's a bit costly so try to find a used copy of the software. The introductory offer is $14.95 with some easy payment jazz. I tried it and liked it a great deal and saw improvement in a few weeks. I had to take breaks and rest my eyes until I became accustomed to the method they were teaching me. Before this I had used the standard speed reading textbook.
