I need to write a story book for my english class and it has to have a hero cycle. this is what i have so far:
Day after day, more and more color is lost in the magnificent land of Oz. In the past, this place was once miraculously beautiful. Now its color is only of evanescence. The talking trees were to bloom in the spring with delicate flowers of endless colors or pinks, yellowes, and whites. Animals of all kinds wandered the forest gracefully. Birds accompanied by talking trees sang enchanting songs which resonated throughout the entire forest. The yellow brick road would shine such a rich yellow hue that it would appear as an endless trail of gold weaving through picturesque everlasting evergreens. And the peoples of Oz were overwhelmed with joy and gayness. Yet now, all seemed to be forgotten
I want to make it so that everything turned black and white and gloomy or something rather and im not sure what made it gloomy and how its going to become colorful and gay and blah again help

I saw my first moving up ceremony when I was in 6th grade. I remember how each speech caused at least five people to cry. So when I left that humid, cramped auditorium, my main concern was MY future moving up speech. I wanted to write the most amazing, riveting speech anyone could ever create. I wanted to leave people crying for weeks to come. But then again, I was the attention seeking little oddball that dyed purple streaks in her hair and wanted a pet monkey.
I now realize that writing a speech that does my peers justice is harder than writing any thing in the world. How can I sum up three years spent with some of the funniest, smartest, weirdest, most interesting people I have ever met. How do I sum up all the awkward situations, all the fun, all the school dances that everybody not so secretly despises, all the late library books, all the essays, homework slips, and progress reports? In short how can summarize Little Red? How can I tell 39 other people how much they mean to me?

The issue of diagnosing mental disorders remains controversial and for good reason; on the one hand diagnosis provides a relatively reliable and simple way to arrive at decisions and treatments when it comes to mental disorders, but on the other hand, it can lead to further complications and the possibility of arriving at incorrect conclusions.

is the above paragraph correct gramatically? I'm just not sure what to do with the 'on the one hand' and the the next 'on the other hand'.. can someone tell me what they thnk plz? thnx
