For my Chinese class, I translated Edgar Allen Poe's A Tell-tale Heart into Chinese. I have ten minutes to present it and I want to do something more interesting than just introduce the author and read my translation. Can anybody think of something creative that I can do?

I don't care what my teacher thinks because I am sick of her class and I'm a senior so I'm not worried about college. I just don't want to bore my classmates to death even though I really dislike doing this project.

Whenever you present something, the first thing you need to consider is the sake of the audience. You have to think that the audience's reaction or level of attention is the key to having a successful presentation.

1. Make sure youre not too far or too near from the class. There must be a perfect proximity point as to where people can see well and hear you perfectly.

2. Do not be monotoned. There is nothing more boring than a person dictating with one tone in their voice. Use your voice in creative ways. If its Poe poems, there should be suspense, there should be intrigued, a depressing tone, an intriguing tone, or even a suprised tone. Sound suprised. Sound alluring.

3. Dont fidget. One thing that most teachers look at is how the person moves. If you keep moving back and forth. Or you keep playing with your hair, they can tell straight out that youre nervous. And even worse, they might assume that youre not fully prepared and youre improvising youre way throughout the presentation.

4. Keep eye contact. It may sound embarassing but, a good eye contact will tell the audience that you acknowledge their presence and that theyre there.

5. Make audience interact with your presentation. I dont know. Warn them that you'll be asking questions and they have to pay close attention. Then ask questions in the end and give them candy for the right answers.

6. Crucial thing: PROJECT YOUR VOICE. SPEAK LOUD. Use your diaphragm. Use hand movements and if youre a drama person. Make a monologue out of it.

I would try to find a video clip that is close to your topic and intergate that clip into your presentation - it usually works like a charm to keep your audience interested

Use funny voices, and use mistranslations. The guy who said to mime it had a good idea.
