I turn in my lead to my teacher, but she said it too much like a history lecture or speech. How do I make it similiar to a newspaper lead? Any suggestion?

have 6 lines to a ten line poem i only need two more but they must have end rhymes and have imagery appealing to sight and sound and im stuck. heres what i have so far:
The school is like a jungle...........................
The sun seeps down through windows high in the leaves...............
It's warm rays stealing the cold like theives..........................

this is the word problem:

The mean of Mr. Moore's salary fo the past 3 years is $26,500. If he earned $23,000 his first year and $26,000 his second year, how much did he earn his third year?

i turned it into an equation:

26,500=(23,000+26,000+y)/3

is the equation correct? if it is, how do you solve it? plz help me by showing step-by-step. thanx

Ok, I am doing higher English and I am doing reasonably well (I got 68% in the prelim) HOWEVER, I failed my personal study NAB once....and I have to re-sit it on wednesday....I am so nervous! I do not want to fail English. This is the only part of English I seem to be having trouble with. Anyways, I need a question for my book and some qoutes....I have tried to do this myself but I couldn't gather the right quotes and I felt I couldn't fully answer my question as I did not understand it fully myself...The book is: "Catcher In The Rye" by J.D. In my computer class we are doing a presentation over whatever we want. No rules, we can do it over whatever we want. Some people are doing it over a band, over a store, like Hollister, and over videogames, Coca-Cola history, etc. I need an idea of what to do mine over, and please nothing to do with history. i have written part of a story but i dont think its very good. Has anyone got any ideas?


The story so far is about a cat which lives on a farm at the edge of a forest. Miller is the owner of the farm. Mouse teaches other mice about the "dangers" of being mice but gets caught by the cat. One night there is a blinding purple light and either it changes all the animals so they can talk to humans and each other or its the end of the world. heres an extract: "There was a flash of purple light which expanded to a great range across Huntington Forest and to Millers farm. The majestic horses shied away, trying to get away from the blinding light. Every living thing attempted to escape the beam, most failed. The once hushed darkness turned into a shrill of animal noises in a flash of light" The story is told from 3rd person and changes to the characters point of veiw. If that makes sense. thanks!!
