Glenn paddles his canoe down the Concord River at a rate of of 6 miles per hour. When he rests and drifts along, he travels 3 miles per hour. How long will it take Glenn to travel from Newtown to Larabee, a distance of 45 miles, if he paddles for an hour and rest for an hour? Explain how you determined the time. Also rewrite the problem in your own words.
