"Am" is a form of the verb "to be." The past is was (used with a singular subject) and were (used with a plural subject). "Being" is the PRESENT participle while "been" is the past participle.

First, the infinitive of "am" is "to be". Am is just the first person singular in the present tense.

The past participle is "been". The past tense is was/were (I was, he/she was, we were, they were, you were).

Hope that helps.

You mean the verb "BE".

Was=past.
Been=past participle.
