I'm doing a research project and must research on 10 random invertebrates in Michigan, not including mussels. (No common names as well, thankyou)

they are mammals, and all mammals are vertebrates. basically stating they could properly be vertebrates instead than invertebrates, won't be able to do plenty on your challenge. it rather is too obvious a element. you may do greater advantageous by skill of looking out which order and enjoyed ones of mammals they belong to, and Wikipedia is basically stunning adequate for that.
