A sudden gust of wind rushes through the classroom door.
The papers and folders strewn across the floor.

Dark clouds off the horizon seem ominous and frightening.
With their rumbling thunder and flashes of lightning.

I hope these lines can help.
Good luck.

For 9th grade, it's pretty darned good. Sure beats my poems from that time.

Your next two lines should be about the herds of animals emerging from the foliage, perhaps shrieking and playing

Your last two lines should be about the hawks or birds of prey watching carefully from the treetops, waiting to swoop down and peck at those having too much fun--hey, your teacher will LOVE being called a hawk!

So let's give it a go--some ideas, but PLEASE make it your own

The monkeys emerge from ______[put in adjective here]foliage, screaming and scampering in glee
They [ok, put in some of their antics, like hitting one another, running, etc] feeling wild and free (there's your rhyme!)

While meanwhile, high aloft, the proudest hawk looks down

From a _________[adjective again]perch, he swoops and pecks at the clown.

Well, I know you can do MUCH better than that---but hope it gives you some ideas!

We swim down halls from class to class
Like shimmering schools of striped bass
We wait for the end of the day like an owl
For the fun we will have, after school, on the prowl
