There is a society that no one leaves and no one enters. One day a rookie pilot flying over the desert spotted a small settlement. Running low on fuel he decided to land for some. no one saw the pilot again and his plain disappeared from the radar.

As one who considers himself a writer, I would reccommend something that you can actually enjoy writing. Indeed, I think I have written some posts longer than 500 words, so it doesn't need to be too deep. Because I don't really know what level of education you are in or what your interests are, I can't assess a particular topic, but pick something that appeals to you; something that has a short lesson in it, just enough to provide a bit of insight into life. I was once told to write a short story for a school assignment; it was a minimum of 1000 words. I ended up writing over 3000 because I got so in to my own story and wanted to keep it going. It ended up being far better than just some poor excuse of a story. Enjoy what you are doing and your story will turn out exponentially better! Don't be afraid to go over the limit!

The first time I ever wrote a paper for college I chose to write about a time that a small group of my friends and I were out drinking and driving and we got pulled over by a cop. Only the driver was 16. The rest of us were only 15. We were all scared crapless. When I committed this story to paper it turned out to be an exciting and fascinating story to tell.
I would recommend that you write about an event in which you were personally involved. Describe it in detail including the emotional turns. Have fun with it and you just might find that there's a good writer inside of you.

what about a scene for the last moments before a fatal car crash? the last thoughts on a persons mind. or a story from an animals perspective is always interesting. like what the monkey at the zoo thinks of the constant parade of humans outside his home. you can also draw on events from your life, just tweak them, you have that hindsight now, take your story and make it what you wish it would have turned out to be or what could have happened. good luck

You know I had writers block once and couldn't think of anything to write and I thought and thought and I thought then I thought some more then I had as idea! Nope that won't do so I took to thinking again and I thought and thought and I thought and I thought some more but much to my dismay nothing seemed to come to mind so I decided to think of something else. So what did you come up with?

Write about a girl who isn't very social and kids bully her, so then she try's to get rid of her fears by the lake. But then She finds this dog. He brings her to new friends, new adventures, but the coolest thing about him is that he talks! Make it funny. Teachers love funny!

gagh! i hate it when i have writers block
write about a mermaid who finds a human that she falls in love with.
she wants to walk on land with him. so she goes and see an evil octopus-witch-doctor-thing. she gets legs, but tehn her voice gets taken away also. you can finish the rest.
or maybe, you can watch a movie that always helps me, and i get a b+ on my last short story
