i turned it into an equation:

yes, your equation is correct.
26,500=(23,000+26,000+y)/3
now multiply by 3:
79500 = 23000 + 26000 + y
then subtract to get y on it's own
y = 30,500
And then you can check by adding the 3 salaries together and dividing by 3
23000 + 26000 + 30500 = 79500
79500/3 = 26500

Yeah that's right
26,500=(23,000+26,000+y)/3
Well add the terms in paranthensis first
so you get
26,500=(49,000+y)/3
Then multiply both sides by 3 to get
79500=49,000+y
then subtract 49,000 from 79500
to get 30500

26,500=(23,000+26,000+y)/3
Well, that's definitely correct. First, get rid of the three by multiplying both sides by it.
79500 = 23000 + 26000 + y
Simplify by adding the two numbers on the left side.
79500 = 49000 + y
And then solve for y by subtracting 49000 from both sides.
30500 = y
That should do it. ;D
He made $30,500 in his third year.

Y=30,500
26500=(23,000+26,000+30,500)/3
26500*3=23000+26000+y (multiply by 3 to cancel out)
79500=29000+y (Minus constants)
30,5000=y
26500=(23000+26000+(30500))/3

Yes, the equation is right. I think that this is how you solve it:
26,500=(23,000+26,000+y)/3
26,500=(49,000+y)/3
3(26,500)=(49,000+y)/3(3)
79,500=49,000+y
-49,000 -49,000
_______________
30,500= y
and that's your answer!!
I sure hope that this helped...and I sure hope that it's right!!
