I turn in my lead to my teacher, but she said it too much like a history lecture or speech. How do I make it similiar to a newspaper lead? Any suggestion?

Roman's population faces religious persecution.
The citizens of Rome have been experiencing limits to their freedom. Vandalism is abundant. By 6 B.C. Iconoclasm has become obsolete.

That's an idea.

Tips: Keep it in present tense. Keep short sentances. Make sentances bold and interesting.

Hope this helps!
