In the title of an essay, do you capitalize the word "my"?

In the title of an essay, do you capitalize the word "my"?

I know youre not supposed to capitalize 'less important' words, but is "my" important enough to be capitalized??

(the title of my essay is 'The Values Portrayed by my/My Family's Oral History')

yes because my is referring to you the main character in the essay. You do know that you only capitalize the m not both m and y correct?

yes, because it has to do with the main subject
