I am in English 102 and need a topic for a research paper. My teacher does not want things that have been over done like Gay issues, Abortion, Gun Control, ADD, and Cancer. She also doesn't want it broad and absolutely nothing on UFO's. I was thinking of how people need surgery to survive and live but it is too vague, can anyone help out. I am open to any suggestions. Thank you.

Hello,

Can someone please explain to me step-by-step how this answer comes about?

Problem: 12 - 3 √x - 5 = 0

Answer: 21

I know that I am to isolate the square root by itself on one side of the equation, and then square both sides. Then just solve. I have tried that, but no matter what, I am getting all numbers except 21. Can someone please help explain this to me?

Thank you very much!!
