Hello,

Can someone please explain to me step-by-step how this answer comes about?

Problem: 12 - 3 √x - 5 = 0

Answer: 21

I know that I am to isolate the square root by itself on one side of the equation, and then square both sides. Then just solve. I have tried that, but no matter what, I am getting all numbers except 21. Can someone please help explain this to me?

Thank you very much!!
