Identify a common thread drown out in both these novels. What ties these works together? What can be identified as a "cultural commentary" in each? How does relate to itself? Lesson to be learned in these two novels. How will it help to get a grip on British Literature?

If anyone can answer any of these questions that would be great. Thanks.

i'm having trouble with this word problem. i know there's 2-steps to solve it. thanks for the help.

table 1.2
year--> 1960, 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000
CPI--> 29.6, 31.5, 38.8, 53.8, 82.4, 107.6, 130.7, 153.5, 172.2

use table 1.2 to estimate the percent change in prices from 1965 to 1995. in 1965 a gallon of gas cost about $0.30. if this price had kept pace w/ the CPI, what would a gallon of gas have cost in 1995?

Ok, for my AP Lit class we are doing our personal pieces. I had a rough dad, he was an alcoholic and a drugatic and eventually ended up dieing from it. Well, I am going to write my personal piece about it. Its going to be like a memoir I think. Well, anyway....I thought about titling it "Achilles Last Stand" (Like the Led Zeppelin song) and sort of compare him to Achilles at the beginning or my personal piece because he was sort of like him (except for the whole son of a God part). He was strong in everything that he did, he just had an Achilles heel...which was alcohol. So, is this a good idea or should I re-think it? Thanks for the help!

I have to write a 10 minute argument, I was wondering if anyone knew approximately how many type-written, 12 point Times New Roman, double spaced pages this would be.

If A = {1, 2, 3} and B = {4, 5}, then {<1, 4>, <2, 5>, <3, 5>}, for example, is a binary relation from A to B.
However, {<1, 1>, <1, 4>, <3, 5>} is not a binary relation from A to B because 1 is not in B.

I don't understand why the first part is true. Why are <1,5> <2,4> and <3,4> not included in the relation?

I DO understand the second part. Since a binary relation from a set A to a set B is a set of ordered pairs where a is an element of A and b is an element of B.

Anyone have any insite?

I am taking a course in Americal Sign Language this semester and I have a project due at the end of the semester. Here is the gyst of the assignment:

I have to use sign language to direct a fellow student (with no prior coaching) through step-by-step directions to complete a task. We can do just about anything we want (except no food, drink, hot or dangerous devices) and it has to be at least five minutes in length. We can use any form of non-verbal communication and we cannot use any writing, speaking or fingerspelling.

My topic is due September 28th. I want to do something original, yet still simple enough to get someone to easily understand what I want. I already have a couple of ideas. I was thinking of bringing in a "diaper bag" and a baby doll and having them feed and change a baby. I am also in judo and I was thinking of directing them on how to do a kneeling bow.

I thought I would ask around here to see if any of you would like to contribute any interesting ideas.
