:) i think u need practice w/ fractions..! don't let it confuse u.
multiply all #'s w/ 12 to get rid of the denominator:
12 (100-4u)/3 = 12(5u+6)/4 + 12*6
4(100-4u) = 3(5u+6) + 72
400 - 16u = 15u +18 + 72
31u = 400-18-72
31u = 310
u = 10
check:
(100-40)/3 = (50 + 6)/4 + 6
20 = 20
tada!

(100 - 4u) / 3 = (5u+6) / 4 + 6
Multiplying all by 12 to remove denominators (12=3*4)
400 - 16u = 15u +18 + 72
15u + 16u = 400 - 18 - 72
31u = 310
u = 310/31
==> u = 10

100-4u = 3(5u+6)/4 +18
4(100-4u) = 3(5u+6) + 72
400-16u = 15u+18+72
400-18-72=15u+16u
310=31u
u=10

100 - 4u = 3(5u + 6) / 4 + 3(6)
100 - 4u = 15u/ 4 + 18/4 + 18
100 - 18 - 18/4 = 15u/4 + 4u
77.5 = 7.75u
77.5/7.75 = u
10 = u

(100-4u)/3=(5u+6)/4 +6
(100-4u)/3 -(5u+6)/4=6
4(100-4u)-3(5u+6)=6x12
400-16u-15u-18=72
-31u=72+18-400
-31u=90-400
-31u= -310
u= -310/-31
u=10
